Celebrating Topping Out at Beech Tree Place

Jun 16, 2025

On Friday, 6th June, celebrations were held at Beech Tree Place – a new affordable housing development in the heart of Sutton town centre in south London.

The project marked its Topping Out – the highest point of the construction. Representatives from the London Borough of Sutton, alongside Bugler Developments and the wider project team gathered for this important milestone.

The Topping Out ceremony was attended by Councillor Jake Short, Chair of Sutton Council’s Housing, Economy & Business Committee, and Jeremy Graham, Chief Operating Officer of Bugler Developments, alongside key team members from each organisation.

Built in the heart of Sutton, the development will create 92 new, affordable homes as part of a borough-wide housing strategy to deliver the next phase of high-quality and affordable homes for the local community.

Councillor Jake Short, Chair of Sutton Council’s Housing, Economy and Business Committee, said:

“This is a major milestone in our ambitious plans to deliver more genuinely affordable housing for Sutton residents.

“Throughout the project, we’ve been committed to delivering these high-quality homes in the heart of Sutton Town Centre.

“Working with partners like Bugler, Sutton Council is playing its part in tackling the housing crisis through projects like this.”

Jeremy Graham, COO Bugler Developments, said:

“It was great to welcome Helen Bailey, Chief Executive Officer, alongside several officers and senior councillors from the London Borough of Sutton as we celebrated the “topping out” milestone at Beech Tree Place, Sutton.

“This town centre development, which is delivering 92 much needed high quality affordable homes, marks the start of what we anticipate being a really successful and longstanding partnership between Bugler and the Borough.

“We look forward to welcoming all back when the development completes in 2026.”
