Topping Out at The Oval, Stevenage
On a sunny 21st September, the Bugler Developments Team were delighted to welcome representatives involved across the breadth of The Oval project to celebrate Topping Out – marking the highest point of the construction.
We were joined by numerous Councillors from Stevenage Borough Council, including the Mayor, Cllr. Lloyd Briscoe and Cabinet Member for Housing, Housing Development Cllr. Loraine Rossati both of whom spoke about the development with great enthusiasm. Alongside the Members, we were joined by Tom Pike, Stevenage Borough Council CEO and several Strategic Directors and officers, in addition to representatives from the office of MP Kevin Bonavia.
Andy Bugler, Bugler Group CEO, Ben Ephgrave, Bugler Developments Construction Director and key members of the Bugler team, provided an overview of the construction progress so far, details of our social value activities in the Borough, and highlighted the ‘Stevenage is 80’ branded hoarding, which features a collage of local school artwork to commemorate 80 years of Stevenage, which was produced in conjunction with the Irish Network Stevenage, who were also in attendance.
Many of the attendees could then try their hand at laying a brick to mark the ‘Topping Out’, before speeches and photographs on the top floor of the building.
The project is the first phase of The Oval Estate Regeneration, where we are building 91 apartments for independent living, in addition to a new Community Centre and Church for the local population.
